Dresden

is the second largest city of the federal state of Saxony. It is also the fifth largest city in Germany. Is situated in the eastern part of the country on the river Elbe. Currently Dresden is cultural and political center of Saxony. There are more than 500 thousand inhabitants. The first mention of the city is from 1206, when there was a fishing village only. The worst period the city experienced during the Second World War, when it was almost completely destroyed.

In Dresden you can find many beautiful sights, which include the Museum of Fine Arts Albertinum, a baroque palace Zwinger Gallery of Fine Arts, Taschenbergpalais, opera Semperoper and Hofkirche and Frauenkirche church.
